After Reading This, You Will Surely Eat Kamias Every Day!
Kamias or bilimbi is possibly one of the most underestimated fruits in the world. It’s closely linked to the balimbing or star fruit, but unlike this fruit, kamias has a sour flavor used in many cuisines of the world. Native to the Philippines, this fruit-bearing tree is a rich source of vitamins B and C, iron, phosphorus and antioxidants.
Although kamias is not as popular as other tropical fruits, it’s definitely rising in popularity due to its high nutritional value.
Some of the most important health benefits of kamias include:
1. Cough treatment
You can easily relieve cough by mixing a few grains of fennel, 3 grains of kamias, and sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil then steam for several hours. Divide the water in two. Drink the first half in the morning on an empty stomach, and the other half in the evening.
2. Diabetes treatment
Kamias is extremely beneficial for people suffering from diabetes. What you need is 6 grains of kamias, crushed then mixed with a glass of water. Bring the mixture to a boil then strain the water and drink twice a day.
3. Acne treatment
Kamias is rich in acidic substances, which are really effective in acne treatment. Simply put a crushed kamias on the affected skin and let it act for several minutes. Rinse with clean water.
4. Thrush treatment
This treatment can be quite painful, but, it’s very effective. Kamias can help treat thrush due to its acidic substances. Simply put some crushed kamias on the affected area.
To alleviate rheumatic pain, crush a handful of kamias leaves and one grain until smooth. Mix with water and apply on the affected areas 2-3 times a day.
6. Muscle stiffness treatment
Mix one handful of kamias leaves, one grain of kaimas fruit, 10 grains of cloves, and 15 grains of peppercorns. Add vinegar. When the ingredients soften, apply the mixture on stiff muscles.
